The educational potential of sports dancing and approaches to its implementation

The purpose of the study is to identify the educational opportunities of sports dances and substantiate effective approaches to their implementation in the process of sports training.
Research methodology and organization. The research was conducted on the basis of dance clubs and sports sections for children and adolescents aged 10 to 17. The methods used were pedagogical observation, questionnaires, interviews with coaches and parents, and analysis of the dynamics of students' personal qualities during long-term training [1].
The results of the study and their discussion. The data analysis showed that regular practice of sports dances contributes to the harmonious development of students’ personality. Aesthetic education manifested itself in the formation of a sense of rhythm, harmony of movements and aesthetic perception: more than 90.1% of the respondents noted an increase in interest in art and self-expression. An important area of influence was moral development – 78.6% of the coaches reported a positive dynamics in the formation of discipline, respect for the partner, responsibility and perseverance in their students. In addition, the classes contributed to social adaptation: 82.2% of the athletes demonstrated increased self-confidence and improved interpersonal skills, which manifested in successful teamwork and more comfortable behavior in a competitive environment.
The following approaches have been proposed to effectively implement the educational potential of sports dances: integrating teamwork exercises into the training structure, using artistic and imaginative tasks to develop aesthetic perception, introducing elements of self-management, and organizing thematic events aimed at strengthening moral values.
Conclusion. Sports dances have a high educational value, contributing to the harmonious development of physical, aesthetic, moral, and social qualities of the individual. The implementation of the educational potential of sports dances requires purposeful pedagogical support, a systematic approach, and the creation of conditions for the comprehensive development of students. The proposed methods and approaches can be recommended for implementation in the practice of coaches and teachers of additional education.
