Objective of the study is to analyze the competitive activities of freestyle wrestler Ray Higuchi.
Methods and structure of the study. The competitive activity of a freestyle wrestler at the Olympic Games in Paris was studied through pedagogical observations and analysis of video recordings of his performances.
Results and conclusions. As a result of the analysis of Rei Higuchi's competitive activities, it was found that at the 2024 Olympic Games he performed technical actions in the rack in 63.6% of cases and in the stalls – 36.3%. This indicates that his technique is dominated by 2-3 key actions. Despite the fact that Ray doesn't have many different techniques, they are very carefully developed. During the fights, he alternates techniques such as a side pass, a transfer to the left hand or the other side, a two-legged pass, deceptive maneuvers followed by a reception, as well as disorientation of the opponent by pulling in two directions. His stance remains unchanged – he avoids grappling and actively works with his hands, controlling the situation with his head and setting his own style of fighting. The analysis of his technical actions made it possible to create a useful methodological database that will be relevant for coaches and athletes in the process of improving training.

Keywords: freestyle wrestling, competitive activity, technical and tactical training, highly qualified wrestlers.
