Introduction. The exclusion of Russian national and club teams from official international competitions and, as a result, the inability to compete with the strongest foreign teams, necessitates assessing the compliance of the best Russian football players with the requirements for players capable of achieving the highest results in a highly competitive international environment.
The purpose of the study is to compare the indicators of technical, tactical, and functional preparedness of female players of the Russian national women's team with model values.
Methodology and organization of the study. 47 players participated in the testing, which allowed for obtaining objective data on the level of functional preparedness of Russian female players.
During the study, we used the following methods: analysis and generalization, pedagogical testing, and mathematical statistics. We analyzed 16 games with different opponents, which allowed us to obtain objective data on motor activity and technical and tactical actions.
The results of the study and their discussion. The analysis of the games allowed us to evaluate the effectiveness of technical and tactical actions based on 12 indicators, the most important of which were the percentage of effective TTA from the total number of TTA and the percentage of accurate passes. The performance of the Russian national team's players falls short of the model values. The performance of the Russian female football players in terms of motor activity (speed and acceleration-deceleration actions) is of particular concern. Thus, with model values of the volume of motor movements in sprinting (>23 km/h, m) – 2300 m per match, the current performance of Russian female football players is 790 m per game. The number of accelerations (>3.0 m/s2) – 550 is the model value, 390 is the indicator of Russian female football players, and the number of decelerations (>3.0 m/s2) – 800 is the model value, 660 is the indicator of Russian players, is one of the main limiting factors for maintaining the necessary level of intensity in matches against strong opponents. Testing of the functional preparedness of female football players of the national women's team showed that in all indicators, Russian players are inferior to model values. Special attention should be paid to the indicators in the 10, 20, 30 m run and the results in the long jump from a standing position, which determine the level of speed-strength abilities.
The indicator of muscle component development (49.6% for Russian female football players, 52.0% for the model value) requires attention, as it largely determines the player's athleticism and ability to effectively engage in combat.
Conclusion. The conducted research revealed a significant gap between the technical, tactical, and functional preparedness of Russian female football players and the model values, which could significantly reduce the success of the Russian national women's team in official international competitions. It is advisable to identify the most functionally gifted female football players among the players in the junior national teams in order to provide them with further methodological support to achieve the highest results in the international arena.
