Overcoming the psychological difficulties of a sports career in the context of anti-Russian sanctions

Objective of the study is aimed at identifying characteristics that help athletes cope with psychological challenges in their careers during the period of anti‑Russian restrictions.
Methods and structure of the study. As part of the psychodiagnostic study, 219 athletes involved in sanctioned sports were tested. Specialized questionnaires were used to assess psychological problems arising in sports activities, motivation, volitional regulation, coping mechanisms, and personality changes.
Research results and conclusions. As a result of the analysis, key characteristics have been identified that help athletes effectively overcome the challenges that arise in sports activities during the period of restrictions: the desire to explore the unknown in the sports field, the desire to extract material benefits and social recognition through sports, harmony between inner feelings and actions, emotional and intellectual self‑regulation, positive, creative and socially oriented approaches. the ability for personal transformation.
