Objective of the study was to identify indicators of morphological status, physical fitness and skiing technique in high-class biathletes with different levels of competitive activity (CAT) implementation efficiency.
Methods and structure of the study. The average performance of one race during the competition period among 43 leading Russian biathletes, «cleared» of the influence of shooting accuracy and differences in physical fitness, was used as the RE criterion.
Results and conclusions. Athletes with high RE were characterized by a lower rolling speed, «low push-off activity» with high vertical oscillations of the bodys center of mass (CM), but low losses of horizontal velocity in the step cycle. Such athletes had a relatively high body and muscle mass, as well as better aerobic power, especially when working with arms.
Keywords: biathlon, running technique, physical fitness.
