Objective of the study was to evaluation of the effectiveness of using adaptive rock climbing as a means of correcting the motor abilities of children with intellectual disabilities.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work involved 198 children with intellectual disabilities aged 6-9 years (137 boys and 61 girls), who were engaged in adaptive rock climbing as part of the No Unattainable Heights project from 2021 to 2024.
Results and conclusions. The results of the study showed that adaptive rock climbing has a positive effect on the correction of motor abilities of children with intellectual disabilities. All participants in the study improved their motor ability indicators. There is a statistically significant improvement in the results of the motor ability indicators of children with intellectual disabilities in all tests in both age groups for both boys and girls.
Over the course of a year of classes, all children with intellectual disabilities improved their motor function indicators, and 45-50% of those involved reached the age norm for motor function indicators, which may indicate the high effectiveness of adaptive rock climbing.
