Objective of the study was to conduct an analysis of modern trends and key areas of research in the field of physical education and sports management for the period 2020–2024, published articles in the journal «Teoriya i praktika fizicheskoy kultury».
Methods and structure of the study. An integrated approach was used, including: content analysis of 127 articles on sports management; quantitative methods (statistical processing of data on the dynamics of publications, authorship, citation); qualitative methods (thematic grouping of studies by management levels and issues).
Results and conclusions. Publication activity: the maximum activity was recorded in 2020-2021 (33 and 48 articles, respectively). By 2024, the share of publications decreased to 4%. Authors: 379 authors with a gender balance were identified (50,1% women). Researchers with PhD degrees predominate (52,8%), 23,5% are doctors of science. Thematic structure: research on federal-level problems (38%) and micro-level problems (organizations - 23%) dominate. Citation rate according to the Russian Science Citation Index: only 12,1% of articles have >10 citations. Works on digitalization are most in demand. Recommendations: focus research on digitalization, sustainable development and social responsibility in sports; stimulate publication activity on project management, cluster models and municipal management; develop interdisciplinary projects for integration into the global scientific context.
