Objective of the study was to assess the legal aspects of integrating the metaverse into the sports sphere.
Methods and structure of the study. The key basis of the methodology of this study is the experimental method. The authors used special equipment (virtual reality headset - MetaOculusQuest 2) to immerse themselves in the world of virtual reality, which made it possible to model a boxing match as close to real as possible.
Results and conclusions. Immersive simulations of individual sporting events in virtual reality require significant mental and physical effort from a person, comparable in terms of costs to playing sports in the real world. Since the metaverse in the future will consist of many virtual worlds, it will be correct to predict that one of them will be dedicated to the sports industry. The main legal issues of integrating the metaverse into the sports sphere are personal identification and cheating.
