Objective of the study was to experimental substantiation of methods for assessing the effectiveness of basketball players sports technique based on the implementation of motor potential and rational technique of athletes.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was conducted at the Federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education «Russian state agrarian university - Moscow Timiryazev agricultural academy» in February 2024. Basketball players of the beginner level and players with a sports category were involved in the testing process.
Research results and conclusions. After comparing the qualitative indicators of throwing technique affecting accuracy, it should be noted that in both groups, throws are more accurate from a standstill, lower accuracy when throwing on the move and then a throw after fatigue. A comparative analysis of the indicators of throwing methods and distance showed that the percentage of the ball hitting the basket is higher if the athlete is at a distance of no more than 3 meters from the ring, and the difference in hitting the ball into the basket from a distance of 3 or 7 meters was not significant both from a standstill and on the move. The methods based on improving psychomotor functions include the methods of «additional reference points», «ideomotor», «changing emotional states», «changing the size of the target». The method of «changing emotional states» at the moment of the throw has practical significance and helps to bring the training conditions closer to the conditions of its manifestation in the game. In the training process, it is advisable to use the «point» method and the «turning off vision» method. In subsequent training, the emphasis is on improving accuracy.
