Legal regulation of the sports industry: comparative analysis of the legislation of Russia and foreign countries

Objective of the study was to identify the general and specific features and legal mechanisms of regulatory framework for the sports industry using the example of the specialized legislation of leading sports powers, which are relevant for practical application in improving current legislation.
Methods and structure of the study. The comparative analysis was based on a comprehensive approach combining legal, historical, economic and sociological methods, which allowed us to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework in countries with a developed sports industry system.
Results and conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was revealed that differences in existing legal systems determine unique approaches to regulating the sports industry in each country. The level and quality of international sports cooperation depends on the political and economic role of the country in the world. Measures are proposed to improve Russian legislation and practice, consisting of supplementing the legislation with norms that enhance the autonomy of sports organizations, improve existing mechanisms for protecting the rights of athletes and reduce the bureaucratic burden on legal entities and individuals from the sports industry.
