The purpose of the study is to identify the influence of the level of development of motor and coordination abilities on the result of competitive activities of basketball students in Chinese universities.
Organization of research. The study was conducted among students involved in basketball at universities in China. The study involved 68 basketball students between the ages of 18 and 22. The following tests were used to assess motor and coordination abilities: the 3x10 m shuttle run, the "Eight" test and the basketball shot accuracy test.
Research results and their discussion. The analysis of the test results showed a significant influence of motor and coordination abilities on the effectiveness of the playing activities of basketball students. As a result of the 3x10 m shuttle running test, it was revealed that athletes with a high level of coordination demonstrate the best time of 9.3±2.7 seconds for the best athletes, compared with 9.9±2.3 seconds for the less prepared ones). The G8 test showed that students with high dexterity consistently perform better in game situations. The average distance passing time for the most dexterous students was 15.2±4.3 seconds, which is significantly better than for the less dexterous students of 16.4±4.9 seconds. The basketball shot accuracy test demonstrated a direct relationship between a high level of hand-eye coordination and the success of game actions. Athletes with a high level of coordination had an average of 7.6±1.6 accurate hits out of 10, while those with less training had 5.2±2.7 hits. The results of the conducted tests confirm the importance of developing coordination of movements and reaction speed as necessary conditions for achieving high results in competitive activities, emphasizing the importance of exercises aimed at improving the accuracy, consistency and economy of athletes' actions.
Conclusion. The study confirmed that the high level of motor and coordination abilities of basketball students is a key factor determining the effectiveness of their competitive activities. Thus, it is recommended that basketball students be included in the training programs in The use of special exercises aimed at improving coordination, dexterity and accuracy, to increase the effectiveness of their athletic performance.
