The purpose of the study is to consider and substantiate the features of monitoring the fitness of highly qualified young football players during training camps during short–term preparation for tournaments.
Methodology and organization of research. The study was conducted on the basis of the Russian youth national football team (U‑21) during 2020-2023. In preparation for international competitions, training camps were organized, which solved the tasks of preparing the team for official tournaments. The training camps are aimed at increasing the functionality of the players and improving technical and tactical actions and interactions. To achieve high results of preparation, a circular method of organizing highly qualified young football players was used. The control of athletic fitness of highly qualified young football players was carried out using a stress type of testing with a stepwise increasing speed.
The results of the study and their discussion. In the process of monitoring the fitness of highly qualified young football players, the following parameters are evaluated: the current level of fitness of the player; the performance of the cardiovascular system; the response of the cardiovascular system to stress; the potential of the player to perform full physical activity on the field during the match; aerobic fitness of the main muscles of the players; individual heart rate values at the level of aerobic and anaerobic the threshold.
Studies have shown that in order to achieve high fitness levels for highly qualified young football players during training camps during short-term preparation for tournaments, it is necessary to record heart rate at the level of aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, maximum oxygen consumption, pulmonary ventilation at the energy threshold level, running speed at the energy threshold level, as well as the variance of cardiac heart rate intervals (rhythm variability heart rate during exercise).
Conclusions. As a result of monitoring the fitness of highly qualified young football players during training camps, a player profile is compiled, and this in turn contributes to: forming a model of a particular athlete or each of a group of athletes in the coach's mind; facilitates managerial decision-making in organizing the training process; makes the training process scientifically sound.
