Objective of the study was to identify the level of development of speed-strength abilities in 14-17 year old underwater swimmers using the circuit training method.
Methods and structure of the study. The testing involved juniors, underwater athletes aged 14 to 17 years (30 people), divided into control and experimental groups of 15 people each.
Results and conclusions. Comparison of the test results of the experimental and control groups for the tested exercises shows that in the speed-strength tests the experimental group significantly surpassed the control group. Also, the athletes of the experimental group have higher results at the end of the sports season in sprint distances of 50 and 100 meters swimming with fins than the athletes of the control group, which indicates the effectiveness of the experimental program for the development of speed-strength qualities.
