Objective of the study: To determine the variability of the kinematic characteristics of the «top spin» shot from the right in table tennis among highly qualified athletes.
Methods and structure of the study: Eight highly qualified men's table tennis players performed a «top-spin» from the right on the ball with the optimal speed and force of execution in order to hit the ball in a certain area of the table under standard conditions. At least five top spin attempts by each athlete were recorded. Registration of spatio-temporal movement parameters was carried out using the «Qualisys» hardware and software complex. In the course of the biomechanical survey, the primary data collection from six high-speed video cameras «ProReflex» was carried out with the help of the «Qualisys Track Manager» software. The recording frequency in the experiment was 200 Hz.
Results and conclusions: On the basis of the analysis of the trajectory and speed of movement of the racket, we determined the following kinematic characteristics of the hit «top spin» on the right: the maximum value of the speed of the racket; the time of execution of each of the three selected phases of the «top spin» stroke; the path of movement of the racket in each of the three selected phases of impact action. The obtained kinematic characteristics of the hit «top spin» on the right for eight tennis players, as well as the average values and coefficients of variation are due to large inter-individual differences in the technique of performing this hit. It can be assumed that tennis players can use fundamentally different acceleration mechanisms of the impact link when performing the top back on the right.
