Youth sports: prerequisites for a change of scientific paradigm

Abstract
Objective of the study was to update the prerequisites for changing theoretical and methodological approaches in the development of modern children's and youth sports.
Results and conclusions. The scientific works of outstanding domestic scientists and specialists played an important role in understanding the results of research into the training process of young athletes, as well as increasing the efficiency of selection into various sports and intraspecific orientation of children, adolescents and young people.
Scientific activity in recent years in the field of children's and youth sports continues the research that has begun, promptly supplementing it with new data, and also leading both young and adult athletes to high results.
