Introduction. The development of independence in the process of physical education contributes to the development of ways of physical self-improvement, education of a creative socially active personality. However, the successful formation of independence requires taking into account a number of circumstances and creating certain conditions for students on the part of a sports teacher [1].
The purpose of the study is to develop the independence of adolescent students in the process of physical education.
Methodology and organization of the study. 44 students of Nalchik schools aged 13-15 years, divided into two groups, took part in the experiment. To assess the level of development of independence in the subjects, the device UPFT 1/30 "Psychophysiologist" was used [2], a set of psychodiagnostic techniques was applied to motivate the performance of activities, the emotional state of the subjects; selective and continuous pedagogical supervision of students by an expert commission was carried out.
The developed correctional program for students of the experimental group, introduced into the educational process for a period of two years, consisted of three interrelated sections: theoretical, practical and control and corrective. The work with students organized within the framework of the theoretical section made it possible to prepare and conduct conversations that took place both during physical education lessons and during class hours and were aimed at eliminating gaps in the theory and methodology of physical culture. The practical part included the work itself in physical education lessons and was reduced to an explanation followed by the fulfillment of those requirements that the teacher gave. The control and correction section was carried out by the teacher and the expert commission directly - by observing the independent work of students and indirectly – with the help of task cards. In the development of independence, the following stages were traced: the fulfillment of tasks planned by the teacher – the execution and self–control of the task – independent planning of activities - independent goal setting and the choice of ways to achieve it (creative initiative).
The introduction of a special program into the educational process contributed to the better development of the levels and forms of manifestation of students' independence in the experimental group: the subjects competently carried out self-control over the performance of motor actions; selected exercises for warm-up; independently performed summing exercises in pauses between approaches to projectiles or when performing other exercises and adequately assessed the lesson, which indicated their purposeful control over the actions of other students. Also, in the course of the study, we recorded a positive reliable relationship between the levels of development of independence and the academic performance of the subjects (r=0.835, p<0.05), as well as between the development of forms of independence and satisfaction from physical education: well-being (r=0.729, p<0.05); activity (r=0.814, p<0.05), mood (r=0.799, p<0.05), internal motivation of the teaching (r=0.824, p<0.05).
Conclusion. The development and implementation of a special correctional program in the educational process aimed at developing the independence of adolescent children contributed to the better development of their levels and forms of manifestation in physical education lessons and had a positive impact on the dynamics of academic performance and the emotional state of adolescents in the experimental class.
