The subjects - 2nd-3rd year students, aged 20-23 years, undergoing an additional educational and training program in sports dancing, were divided into three groups: CG - students professionally involved in sports dancing; EG1 – those involved in complex coordination sports, EG2 – those involved in sports games and martial arts.
Results and conclusions. After completing an additional educational and training program in sports dancing, the students’ mental health significantly improved due to increased efficiency of self-regulation, psychological adaptation to educational and training loads, and a decrease in the level of psychological stress, distress and negative emotions.
Social support, the formation of positive attitudes towards oneself, towards dance classes and towards others will increase the effectiveness of personal development when completing an additional training program in sports dancing.
