Objective of the study was to assess the physical development of the child population in new territories of the Russian Federation.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was carried out in May-June 2023 in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Kherson region in educational organizations. 2565 schoolchildren aged 7-17 years in the DPR and 1933 in the Kherson region were examined. Standard anthropometric techniques and instruments were used and copies of their official medical records were used. The study did not endanger the participants and complied with the requirements of biomedical ethics and the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki. Statistical analysis was carried out using the StatTech v program. 3.1.10 and IBM SPSS Statistics v. 23.0.0.0.
Results and conclusions. It has been established that the growth curves of schoolchildren in new regions look traditional. However, schoolchildren living in the DPR and exposed to unfavorable medical and social factors for a longer period of time get sick more often and miss more days due to illness than schoolchildren in the Kherson region.
It is necessary to continue research into the physical development and health status of children and adolescents living in new territories; accumulation of new scientific data, since research data will form the basis for the development of health programs, including through physical education.
