Development of student sports and health tourism at the university

Objective of the study was to identify opportunities for the development of sports and health tourism at a university in the aspect of sociological analysis.
Methods and structure of the study. A survey of 500 students of Don State Technical University was conducted. The objectives of the survey were the following aspects: identifying students’ preferences in sports and health tourism; determination of factors motivating students to participate in sports and health tourism; identifying the perception of benefits from sports and health tourism; formulation of student proposals for improving the organization of sports and health tourism.
Results and conclusions. The survey showed that students are heavily involved in sports and health tourism, with mountain hiking and trekking being the most popular types of activities. Physical health, learning new skills and social interaction are highlighted as the main motivators for participation in such programs.
Proposals for improving the organization of sports and health tourism in universities include measures such as expanding the choice of programs, improving the availability of information, increasing financial support and improving the quality of event organization. These suggestions can be implemented to improve the student experience in sports and health tourism.
