Age dynamics of maximum oxygen consumption of highly qualified hockey players

Objective of the study was to evaluate the long-term dynamics of maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) and its relationship with the age of athletes. Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was carried out on the example of hockey players n=11 (field hockey), who underwent regular testing for 14 years. To assess this indicator in laboratory studies, a step test was used on a Monark 894 Peak Bike bicycle ergometer.
Results and conclusions. It has been established that during the ontogeny of summer hockey players there is a decrease in the MOC value. This trend with age in qualified athletes may be a consequence of a decrease in the volume of competitive and training load.
