Objective of the study was to analyze the scheme of stages of teaching technical actions and techniques in freestyle wrestling according to the methodology of coach D.P. Korkina.
Methods and structure of the study. The article analyzes the manuscripts of the Soviet freestyle wrestling coach D.P. Korkin, who describe his methodology for constructing the training process in wrestling.
Results and conclusions. Four stages in teaching a set of technical techniques have been identified, each of which has three phases identical in content; one of the important goals is the formation of operational thinking based on improving the reaction of choice. At stages of training from the first to the third, the skill of anticipation is formed - to quickly predetermine the most likely actions of an opponent by his posture, preparatory movements, general demeanor, gaze, etc. In the third phase of the last stage, the ability to most appropriately choose a motor solution among the many proposed options is formed. The presented scheme, developed by coach D.P. Korkin, requires in-depth attention from specialists in terms of analysis of teaching methods and its practical application.
