Determination of components of military-professional competence of cadets

Introduction. Criteria for evaluating the results of mastering the basic educational program and the formation of professional competencies of future specialists are important for improving the quality of the educational process, substantiating the effectiveness of the obtained scientific results, new solutions or identifying their insolvency [1, p. 192].
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the components of military professional competence of cadets.
Methodology and organization of the study. Generally accepted psychological and pedagogical methods were used, including the analysis of literary data, questioning of cadets in the number of 100 people and commanders of military units both in a military educational institution (45 people) and units in which graduates of a military educational institution (55 people) serve.
The results of the study and their discussion. It is determined that military professional competence is a set of interrelated professional and personal qualities that are formed in the educational process of a military educational institution and determine the ability of cadets to carry out military professional activities on the basis of acquired knowledge and formed skills. To assess the formation of military professional competence among cadets, the following components can be distinguished::
– professional and ideological, including: the creativity of the military-applied professional thinking of the cadet, requiring the use of physical skills and abilities when performing combat duty tasks and other professional tasks; the formation of professional conviction, its manifestation in practice and behavior. This criterion is supported by 89% of cadets and 91% of commanders of military units;
– professional activity, including: the cadet's ability to design his further military-professional development; the normative interaction of cadets in the process of performing military service tasks; the cadet's own professional self-esteem, stimulating him to comprehend and solve problems; readiness for effective military-professional activity in non-standard service situations. This criterion is supported by 91% of cadets and 87% of commanders of military units;
– reflexive, including: the cadet's ability to critically evaluate his own knowledge, skills, skills, manifestation of personal and physical qualities in the conditions of educational and professional and military-professional reality; the degree of awareness of the cadet's needs, as well as the orientation of military-professional development in the period after completing the tasks of military practice. This criterion is supported by 87% of cadets and 95% of commanders of military units.
Conclusions. The selected components of military professional competence allow us to determine evaluation criteria and reasonably monitor the process of formation of cadets, corresponding professionally significant qualities necessary in the future military profession.
