Objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of professional-applied physical training to increase motor activity and physical performance of students at an agricultural and technical university.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was conducted from September 2021 to April 2023 at the Department of Physical Education of the Don State Agrarian University (Don SAU) and the Don State Technical University (DSTU) (Rostov-on-Don). The experiment involved male full-time students of 1-2 years of study. In the course of the study, a program of professional applied physical training was developed, including the selective use of sports games and athletics to increase the motor activity and physical performance of students in their daily routine and in preparation for professional activities.
Results and conclusions. As the results of control and pedagogical tests have shown, the introduction of selective exercises of team sports and athletics within the framework of professional-applied physical training provides a significant increase in the physical activity of students of an agricultural and technical university, due to the development of speed and coordination abilities, which determine the effective performance of labor functions in the process of upcoming professional activity.
