Objective of the study was to evaluate the influence of artificial intelligence on the effectiveness of the training process in intellectual sports using the example of chess and Go in the aspect of sociological analysis.
Methods and structure of the study. During the study, a survey was conducted (N=108), in which amateurs, professional players (grandmasters, masters of sports) and coaches of different ages and work experience took part. The questionnaire, along with the demographic part, contained questions regarding the specifics of the use of AI in sports activities
Results and conclusions. Analysis of the survey results showed that trainers do not consider it necessary to use AI in the training process by more than 50%. The main tasks for which AI should be used are: analysis of specific games to identify errors, analysis of complex positions and as a source of ideas. Many trainers share the opinion that AI will never be able to replace them as specialists. At the same time, strong players believe that replacing a coach with artificial intelligence in the next 10 years is not possible. Their position is as follows: AI can indicate good/bad moves, but to explain them, a coach is needed who also takes into account the psychological characteristics and personal characteristics of the player. Despite some differences in the opinions of chess and Go players, as well as their coaches, the survey showed the same impact of AI on the training process in intellectual sports.

Keywords: mind sports, chess, Go, artificial intelligence (AI).
