The aim of the study is to assess the functional state and determine the lagging components of preparedness in adolescents aged 10-14 years engaged in the martial art of karate during a one–year training cycle.
Methodology and organization of the study. The scientific work was carried out on the basis of the Sparta combat club (Smolensk) from October 2021 to September 2022. To monitor functional fitness, a set of test tests (PWC170, IPC, Harvard step test) was used, which reflect the features of the activity of the body's systems during exercise. In the course of the study , three slices were performed: October, April, September. The results obtained made it possible to determine the lagging sides of the functional fitness of adolescents aged 10-14 years engaged in the martial art of karate during a one-year training cycle.
The results of the study and their discussion. The results of the conducted studies show that athletes aged 10 and 14 in karate have a slight increase in PWC170 indicators during a one-year training cycle by 30.7±5.8 and 31.5±6.1 kGm/min, respectively (p>0.05). PWC170 indicators are significantly higher in athletes aged 14 years, which are caused by morphological rearrangements of the body (p<0.05). At the beginning (April) and end (September) during the competitive period of the one-year training cycle, the IPC indicators of 14-year-old karate athletes significantly exceed the results of 10-year-old athletes by 9.9±0.7 and 7.8±0.6 ml/min/kg, respectively (p<0.05). The results of the Harvard step test showed that during the one-year training cycle, both 10 and 14-year-old karate athletes have a slight increase in indicators by 4.5 ± 0.3 and 4.8± 0.4 CU (p> 0.05). In 14-year-old karate athletes, the Harvard step test indicators slightly exceed those of 10-year-old athletes (p>0.05).
Conclusion. It has been established that in athletes aged 10-14 years engaged in karate, during the one-year training cycle, the indicators of functional fitness tend to slightly improve. Many indicators between athletes aged 10 and 14 years practically do not differ from each other, which indicates the low effectiveness of the training tools used in the process of long-term training.
