Introduction. The health-improving behavior of persons over the working age, formed by the combined effect on the body of physical exertion and intellectual and emotional activity carried out on hiking excursions, is an effective means of preserving health and active longevity [1].
The purpose of the study is to generalize the experience of organizing and conducting a "Walking lecture" of the social project "Moscow Longevity".
Methodology and organization of the study. The implementation of approaches to the formation of health-saving behavior of citizens of older age groups is integrated into the educational process of bachelors studying in the direction of "Tourism", profile "Excursion activity", at the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Industry of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism. Practical classes on the "Walking Lecture Hall" program throughout the academic year are held mainly in the park areas of Moscow. For the period from 2021 to 2023, persons over the working age were attracted to participate in the "Walking Lecture". Walking tours, accompanied by a teacher and students, were conducted weekly regardless of weather conditions. The total number of participants – 245 people, age – from 58 to 82 years, 73% of them constantly attended classes. The gender and social structure of tourists was shifted towards women (87%), with the predominance in the past of working professions (46%) and low-skilled labor (32%). All participants retained physical activity that did not interfere with two-hour walking. Two health groups were identified [2]: the first – relatively healthy persons, the second – persons with chronic diseases, mainly of the musculoskeletal system. Before the start of classes and after their completion every three months, all participants were examined with the measurement of blood oxygenation, blood pressure and heart rate (HR).
The results of the study and their discussion. It was found that walking two-hour walks of people older than working age did not change heart rate (t=1.8 at p≤0.05), but significantly increased blood oxygenation (t=5.1 at p≤0.01). Blood pressure indicators had pronounced variability, which may have indicated the individual characteristics of the autonomic regulation of the examined individuals.
Conclusions. The study revealed that wellness technologies in the form of regular hiking with intellectual and emotional excursion support contribute to improving the functional state of the body, recorded when assessing blood oxygenation indicators, which is a positive factor in improving the health of people older than working age.
