Objective of the study was to substantiate the factors that determine the high efficiency of the survival of pilots of the Air Force.
Methods and structure of the study. The analysis of the current program of physical training of Air Force pilots for survival, literature data and guidance documents was carried out. A survey of 157 teachers and specialists with work experience of 15 years or more was carried out in order to establish the factors that determine the high efficiency of the survival of Air Force pilots in extreme situations. Respondents were asked to rank the factors according to their importance. In the course of the study, a correlation analysis was carried out between the indicators of the physical readiness of pilots and the effectiveness of activities in surviving.
Results and conclusions. The training of pilots in special centers is aimed at developing their psychological and physical readiness for action after a forced landing or landing (splashdown) with a parachute. It is also aimed at developing survival skills in extreme conditions of autonomous existence in peacetime and wartime, the effective use of emergency rescue equipment in order to ensure a favorable outcome of survival and the return of flight personnel to duty. In the course of the research, it was found that a promising direction for improving the process of preparing Air Force pilots for survival is now seen in helping specialists to comprehend the truth in their own way, think productively, and find non-standard solutions to problems in survival. In the course of the study, it was concluded that the means of physical training of Air Force pilots must be widely used to form survival skills.
