Introduction. The physical potential of a student of a special medical group (SMG) is a complex characteristic of motor abilities and functional capabilities, with the help of which the effectiveness of his daily activities is ensured [1]. The task of forming the physical potential of the SMG student is also realized on the basis of wellness training, therefore it is important to assess physical fitness, the functional state of the organs and systems of the body in order to optimally plan physical activity.
The purpose of the study is to assess the physical potential of students of a special medical group based on physical fitness testing data and subjective opinion about the level of functional state.
Methodology and organization of the study. Pedagogical testing, heart rate monitoring and a survey were conducted among first-year students of the special medical group (SMG) engaged in physical culture (FC) at the university. We assessed the physical potential of the students, a total of 128 people took part, including 82 girls and 46 boys, the average age at the time of the study was 18.2 years.
The results of the study and their discussion. In the infusionCurrently, 13.4% of students from the total contingent at the university belong to the special medical group at RANEPA. The analysis of the indicators of the physical potential of SMG students revealed that the results on all tests were obtained at the level of "excellent" and "good". At the same time, the results of the survey during the performance of tests assessing physical fitness indicate that their performance is given to students "physically difficult" 76.1%.
Taking into account the fact that students are enrolled in the SMG due to health restrictions, it can be assumed that the success of the test exercises is ensured by the personal qualities of the students, primarily moral and volitional. This circumstance, perhaps indirectly, is confirmed by the high heart rate values that were recorded during the tests, while such indicators may harm rather than have a health-improving and restorative effect.
It is noteworthy that the answers to the question "What motivates you to exercise?" demonstrate positive meanings and a desire to engage. So, in the first place in the frequency of responses sounded: "To keep the body in good shape and overall recovery", in second place "Psychological relief after couples", "Helps to relieve tension and relax", and in third place "Communication in the process of motor activity", as social interaction.
Thus, a contradiction arises, which lies in the fact that, on the one hand, the implementation of the discipline "Physical Culture" with this category of students is aimed at general improvement, correction of existing deviations and their prevention, as well as the formation of a stable need for systematic classes, and on the other hand, there is a formal need to pass the test requirements that, by definition of students, are "physically impossible" to perform.
Conclusion. The results of the study showed that the physical potential of SMG students, according to the test results, is at a fairly high level, however, the performance of these exercises is accompanied by a significant increase in heart rate and subjective experience of difficulties in fulfilling the test requirements. During the survey, it turned out that students perform test exercises through the tension of personal qualities, including moral and volitional.
In connection with the above, we believe that it is necessary to search for innovative ways to resolve the current situation, one of these may be the creation of pedagogical technology based on a biopsychosocial approach, which involves the formation of biological, psychological and social adaptation of a person based on the potential of his physical and mental strength.
Using this approach as an environment that forms a harmonious personality of a SMG student, we note that the primary thing in this process should be a sense of satisfaction from physical education in conditions of social interaction and only on this basis is a careful, safe increment of physical potential, which ultimately ensures physical, mental and social health.
