Influence of normobaric hypoxia on sensorimotor reactions of highly qualified athletes and swimmers

Objective of the study was to study the effect of normobaric hypoxia on the sensorimotor reactions of highly skilled swimmers and athletes.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific experiment was carried out at the laboratory of physiology of muscle activity and recovery of the Research Institute of Sports and Sports Medicine RUS "GTSOLIFK". We used psychophysiological tests using the hardware-software complex "Sports psychophysiologist" and the method of hypoxic tests using the hypoxicator "Everest-1, mod.07m".
Results and conclusions. It has been shown that the effectiveness of short-term normobaric hypoxia in athletes is expressed in a decrease in the time spent on some sensorimotor reactions caused by various limbs. The parameters of recognition and evaluation of presented stimuli usually do not change after exposure to normobaric hypoxia. The nonspecific stress effect of normobaric hypoxia in the form of a decrease in the time spent on sensorimotor reactions characterizes normobaric hypoxia as an ergogenic agent that can be used in sports practice for a targeted impact on sensorimotor functions.
