Objective of the study was to determine the informative indicators of the physical fitness of hockey players of various qualifications according to the criteria of logical and empirical informativeness (according to the statistical relationship with performance indicators in competitions at p≤0.05 based on correlation analysis).
Methods and structure of the study. The selection of tests was carried out in accordance with the assumed significant motor abilities of hockey players on the basis of a logical and meaningful analysis of their competitive activity, as well as taking into account the duration of the competitive actions during the game (four groups of actions: receiving the puck, dribble, throw and fight for possession). To achieve the goal of the study, hockey players performed special tests on the ice (maneuvering, throws and tricks) and general tests off the ice (reaction test, jump tests, VO2max test on the treadmill). An analysis was also made of video recordings of the official competitions closest to the date of the survey to assess the number, duration and success of key motor actions. The study involved 112 players aged 9 to 16 years (87 boys and 25 girls).
Results and conclusions. Based on the correlation analysis, 19 statistically significant relationships were revealed between the indicators of motor abilities (speed of maneuvering, speed of mastering the puck, speed of throwing in combination with accuracy, speed of response, general speed-strength abilities, general endurance) and indicators of competitive activity (duration and success of possession of the puck). in the game, the success of the fight for possession of the puck in the game, throwing the puck into the opponent's goal). High and medium statistically significant relationships of the considered indicators testify to the informativeness of the following tests for assessing the preparedness of hockey players.
