Objective of the study was to experimentally prove the effectiveness of floorball lessons for cadets of higher educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia as part of the organization of additional physical training.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was conducted at the Kuzbass Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia (Novokuznetsk), in which 36 male cadets aged 18 to 20 took part. The cadets were divided into control (CG) and experimental (EG) groups. The CG included 22 people, the average age was 20±0.2 years, the EC included 14 people, the average age was 20±0.3 years. Students from the EG in their free time from study and service (as part of the organization of additional physical training) attended floorball training twice a week for an hour and a half in the sports hall of the institute. The cadets of the CG were engaged only in applied physical training and did not attend additional sports sections.
Results and conclusions. The characteristics of the physical fitness of cadets who additionally go in for floorball in their free time from study and service are presented, according to three main test standards for assessing the level of physical fitness of employees of the penitentiary system. The results obtained experimentally testify to the expediency of introducing floorball classes not only within the framework of the discipline of physical training, but also in the organization of additional physical training of cadets and students of other higher educational organizations.
