Objective of the study was to develop the content of mesocycle blocks of special physical training for junior judokas and to test the effectiveness of their use in the training process.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was carried out in the city of Tchaikovsky for five months. The experiment was carried out on two groups of junior judokas undergoing sports training at the stage of improving sportsmanship, 15 people in each. Judoists had the sports qualification of candidates for master of sports and masters of sports.
Results and conclusions. Judoists of the experimental group, whose training was planned in mesocycle blocks developed by us in accordance with the specifics of judo, had a statistically significant advantage (p≤0.05) in terms of special physical fitness over judokas of the control group who trained according to the traditional scheme. This allows us to conclude that the planning of the training process in accordance with the block periodization of sports training can increase the effectiveness of the special physical training of junior judo wrestlers.

Keywords: special physical training, block periodization, judo, stage of sportsmanship improvement, judoists.
