Objective of the study was to determine the professionally important psychophysical functions of agricultural professions and the methodological features of their improvement in the process of professionally applied physical training.
Methods and structure of the study. Scientific work was carried out in the field during physical education classes and directly in industrial practice. Under observation were 132 students of Russian Timiryazev State Agrarian University aged 18-25 years (men and women) studying at different faculties, who were divided into two groups of 66 people equal in terms of physiological parameters. The first group was trained according to the methodology of professionally applied physical training (PAPT) with an emphasis on the development of important professional skills for the agricultural sector. The second group - according to the usual educational program in physical culture.
Results and conclusions. Studies have identified the key psycho-physiological functions required in modern types of agricultural labor: the ability to finely coordinate muscle efforts and spatial dimensions with a high resistance of the body to fatigue (18%), the ability to accurately reproduce muscle efforts and spatial dimensions (15%), the productivity of information processing ( eleven%).

Keywords: students, agricultural professions, psychophysical functions, professionally applied physical training (PAPT).
