Objective of the study was to assess the physical development and component composition of the body of students of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra of sports and humanitarian-pedagogical profiles of education.
Methods and structure of the study. To assess the physical development and component composition of the body, students (girls, n=77; boys, n=78) of the sports and (girls, n=174; boys, n=20) humanitarian and pedagogical profile of education of Surgut State Pedagogical University and Yugra State University, aged 17-19 years. Anthropometric indicators of body length and weight were recorded, and the body mass index was calculated. Body composition was determined using Tanita BC-610 body composition analyzers.
Results and conclusions. Differences in the composition of students of different profiles of education were established (for boys at the level of a trend, for girls it was significant). Students of sports training profiles had lower indicators of body fat mass and higher indicators of the water component, due to both a smaller number of registered persons with excess adipose tissue, and lower average group indicators. Objective indicators of the somatic health of young people studying can be an objective control tool and the basis for building a health-saving educational space.
