Objective of the study was to identify the distinctive features of the functional state of young ballet dancers who have different physical activities.
Methods and structure of the study. The article presents the results of physiological testing of 19 young ballet dancers of the Vaganova Ballet Academy. Adolescent dancers are divided into two groups according to the amount of physical activity: Gr1 – physical activity 15.8±1.5 hours per week; Gr2 perform physical activity for 12 hours a week.
Results and conclusions. Among the parameters of the morphological status, statistically significant differences in the parameter "Long-legged index" were revealed. Young ballet dancers who tolerate physical activity well are distinguished by a short time in the “Reaction to a moving object” test; the ability to more accurately estimate the time, a lower level of anxiety in the "Time of an individual minute" test, a higher rate of work of the neuromuscular apparatus of the hand during the tapping test; the ability to accurately and for a long time, at a high speed of test execution, to solve cognitive problems. In young ballet dancers from Gr1, in most cases, a pronounced tension of regulatory systems was revealed in response to a large amount of physical activity. The data obtained in the course of the study make it possible to supplement the criteria for the selection and admission of young ballet dancers to increase the amount of physical activity.

Keywords: young ballet dancers, psychophysiology, type of autonomic regulation of heart rate variability, mental performance.
