Abstract
Objective of the study was to identify the main motives for fulfilling the TRP standards and the conditions for the formation of a positive attitude among students to a healthy lifestyle and participation in the implementation of the activities of the GTO complex.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment was conducted in 2021-2022 with 1st year students of the Surgut State Pedagogical University. The total sample size was 199 respondents. The study sample was obtained through an online survey.
Results and conclusions. It was revealed that among the students of a pedagogical university, the leading motives for physical education are associated with the aesthetic component: the desire to feel better and less tired, to be more attractive, and also to prevent diseases. Also, the leading target settings for participation in the implementation by students of the standards of the GTO complex were identified. It was determined that the weaknesses of working with students include the insufficient organization of educational work to promote among students the basics of a healthy lifestyle and to involve them in participating in the mass physical culture and sports movement, as well as instilling interest in independent physical education and sports.

Keywords: students' attitude to a healthy lifestyle, GTO complex, physical culture lessons.
