Objective of the study was to reveal, on the basis of experimental studies, the rational ratio of the main and auxiliary means in the annual macrocycle of young football players' training.
Methods and structure of the study. A one-year experiment was carried out, in which three groups (15 people each) of 17-18-year-old football players with the qualification of the second sports category took part. The test factor was the ratio of the main and auxiliary preparations in the macrocycle: in group 1 - 65 and 35%, in group 2 - 70 and 30%, in group 3 - 75 and 25%. Research methods: theoretical analysis; pedagogical observations; pedagogical experiment; testing; methods of mathematical statistics.
Results and conclusions. A comparative analysis of the data on the effectiveness of competitive activity of young female football players of three groups, obtained after the experiment, made it possible to fix a higher performance among the players of group 2, who performed volumes of specific and non-specific loads in the macrocycle in the ratio of 70%:30%. Pedagogical observations of the training and competitive activities of group 2 in the years following the experiment showed a further increase in the sports skills of girls, which allows us to assert the success of the principle of proportionality in the improvement of physical qualities and technical preparedness.

Keywords: macrocycle, main and auxiliary, training means, football players.
