Objective of the study was to analyze benefits of the modern Para sports for socializing needs, activation and wellbeing of the disabled.
Methods and structure of the study. The study included an empirical questionnaire survey we run in November 2020 on a sample of disabled people (n= 11) trained at the Volgograd Regional Clinical Center of Restorative and Rehabilitative Service No.1. The sample for the special questionnaire survey included the 22-44-year-old women (n= 4) and 21-46-year-old men (n= 7) competing in the Para (wheeled) basketball, volleyball, table tennis and football.
Results and conclusion. The questionnaire survey found the disabled creating their social space in three dimensions: physical, psychological and social. Sports reportedly improve their health, self-confidence and strength. Competitive accomplishments with the fear coping, pain relief and inner excellence work were found to develop a strong spirit and level down their complexes, doubts and feel of loneliness. Healthy social contacts in trainings, travels and competitions help them shape up new social experiences and adaptabilities with proactive and determined socializing agendas.
