Abstract

Objective of the study was to characterize the mechanisms of autonomic regulation in 18-20-year-old girls with different somatotypes based on their heart rate variability indices for optimal planning of physical loads.

Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out at Dubna State University. Subject to the study were 240 female students of the 1st-3rd years of study (18-20 years of age). Their body build types (somatotypes) were determined by the Shtefko-Ostrovsky method. Their heart rate variability was recorded for 5 minutes in a state of rest in the morning and included the following indicators: RMSSD, SDNN, SI, TP, HF, LF, VLF, index of activity of the regulatory systems (IARS).

Results and conclusions. The findings provided a basis for the methodological recommendations on the choice of the volume and intensity of physical loads, nature of physical activity, speed and amplitude of exercises, which should be taken into account when planning the physical education and sports process at a university for female students with different somatotypes and types of vegetative regulation.

Keywords: body build types, heart rate variability, physical load planning.
