Implementation of potential properties of semantic group of figure skating sports terms

Objective of the study was to describe the sports vocabulary of the Russian language on the example of the thematic group "Figure Skating" and the characteristics of the system of exercises for the development of lexical skills of foreign students in the aspect of intercultural and business interaction.
Methodology and organization of the study. The definition of the lexical and thematic group "Figure Skating", ways and means of its replenishment as one of the tools for recreating the national language picture of the world were given. In determining and describing the optimal ways of mastering lexical means and concepts, general scientific and sociological methods were used: linguoculturological, descriptive, semantic, component, etymological, quantitative, comparative and comparative analysis.
Results of the study. When describing the characteristics of the potential properties of the semantic group of figure skating sports terms, it is revealed that this group reflects the cultural codes of the Russian national picture of the world: the subject and spiritual codes of culture, which reflect information about the development of sports in the USSR and Russia, about Soviet and Russian figure skaters, their results and achievements, about Russia and its place in the world sports space. When comparing the corresponding programs and textbooks, which include linguistic and cultural materials on the topic of figure skating, there are qualitative changes in the presentation of complex lexical topics in favor of exercises, taking into account the communicative-activity approach and the formation of intercultural competence on modern authentic materials about famous Russian figure skaters

It is impossible to learn Russian as a foreign language without referring to authentic materials on the subject of sports, and the study of sports vocabulary contributes not only to the development of the vocabulary of students, but also creates a fully linguistic picture of the world in its dynamic development.
