Objective of the study was to analyze the dynamics of changes in the integrated indices of motor development of university students during the health-protecting physical education lessons.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out on the basis of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow) in the period from 2017 through 2020. Sampled for the study were the 1st-2nd-year students (n=648), who were tested step-by-step during the training sessions using four "motor-fitness-tests": 12-min run, standing long jump, pull-ups on a horizontal bar - for the boys (number of times) and for the girls - bent suspension (sec); 2-min sit-ups (number of times). The test results were evaluated on a 10-point scale, and based on the total points, the integrated indices were determined.
Results and conclusions. Students’ motor development is in direct relationship with the contents of the health-protecting physical education course: it improves with the optimization of the content based on the objective information on the level of physical development.
The study proved the "motor-fitness-test" to be an informative tool for assessing university students' motor development levels. The generalized formula derived for students’ motor development level from the synthesis of particular values allows comparing the incomparable test results of different scales by bringing them to one standard scale. The multidimensional statistical data generalization can be applied to group university students by the level of motor development and characterize them in the process of health-protecting physical education.
