Objective of the study was to determine the current psychophysiological state of the athletes of various qualifications at rest.
Methods and structure of the study. The subjects’ psychophysiological state was assessed using the vibration imaging technology with the use of VibraMed10 software. Subject to the experiment were the 18-20-year-old athletes (n=118) with various qualifications, who represented different team sports: volleyball, basketball, handball, tennis, football, and hockey. All the athletes studied at Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health and School of Olympic Reserve No. 1, St. Petersburg.
The proposed methodology is based on the principle of conversion of video footage into a vibration image. The recording unit consists of a video camera and a computer. The subject is seated in front of the camera at a distance of 80 cm. The following psychophysiological features were evaluated during the study: aggressiveness, stress tolerance, anxiety level, response to danger, tranquility, charisma, vitality, self-regulation, aim-inhibition, and neuroticism.
Results and conclusions. To support the study objective, we examined the active athletes from various team sports to determine their psychophysiological state at rest. The study results are presented in Table 1. The above data represent the psychophysiological state of the athletes in terms of 10 psychophysiological parameters. Their quantitative order enables to assess each state and, based on this, forecast the athlete’s behavior in the future.
