Introduction. In accordance with the" Concept for the Development of Student Sports until 2025", an increase in the number of students regularly engaged in physical culture and sports is envisaged, which can be facilitated by an increase in the number of classes in the conditions of the university's sports club.
The aim of the study is to determine the volume and distribution of training loads of different intensity in middle-distance runners engaged in the sports club of the university.
Methodology and organization of the study. A nine-month ascertaining experiment was conducted from September to June, which is typical for a one-year training cycle for students. The experiment involved 12 middle-distance runners aged 19-21 years, height 176.3±2.4 cm, weight 67.2±2.6 kg. Results in the 800 m – 2.06,2±3.8 min.s and 4.15, 4±5.5 min.c – in the 1500 m race. Before the start of the experiment and after its completion, testing was carried out in the laboratory: running on a treadmill with a stepwise increasing speed. Threshold running speeds and physical performance were determined. Training loads were evaluated according to 5 zones of intensity: aerobic recovery; aerobic development; aerobic-anaerobic; anaerobic glycolytic; anaerobic alactate and maximum. The limits of the intensity zones were the threshold velocities (aerobic and anaerobic threshold and critical velocity). The weekly microcycle included 2 mandatory classes at the stadium, a one-stop run on the highway and two self-performed recovery cross-country runs.
The results of the study and their discussion. For 9 months of training, the runners completed a total running load of 930-1027 km. The main training load fell on running in the aerobic development mode at the level of the anaerobic threshold (284-341 km). This is a pace run for 6-8 km and variable running on long stretches of 800-1600 m. The second training load was interval running on 200-400 m segments, performed at the level of the critical running speed in the anaerobic-glycolytic mode in the amount of 48-61 km per year. The volume of running at a maximum speed in the 50 - 60 m segments was 14-16 km, and the volume of jumping and running exercises was up to 20 km. The sports result in the 800 m race improved by 3.6±1.4 s (p0.05). in the 1500 m race – at 6.4±2.4 s (p0. 05). The improvement in athletic performance is due to an increase in running speed at the level of PANO (the threshold of anaerobic metabolism) by 0.5-0.7 m/s and an increase in critical speed by 0.4-0.6 m / s, which indicate an improvement in running efficiency and an increase in aerobic capabilities [1].
Conclusions. Performing a running load of 900-1000 km per year with a concentration of intensive exercises at the level of the anaerobic threshold and critical running speed ensures a stable increase in the sports results of middle-distance runners engaged in the sports club of the university.
