Objective of the study was to conduct a comparative analysis of the experiences in the organization of the methodological support for elite athletes in foreign countries.
Methods and structure of the study. We analyzed the informational content of the scientometric databases, government and social websites of sports organizations in France and Canada.
Results of the study and conclusions. The study showed that the methodological support in Canada and France is organized by many specialists and scientists working with athletes in stationary sports training centers. The sports centers have a hierarchical structure that enables them to work not only with the main national teams but also with the promising athletes of the youth and reserve teams. Particular attention should be paid to the following difference in the organization of the methodological support.
In France, promising athletes of sports reserve are trained with a considerable fundraising and organization of sports federations. Unlike the French, in Canada, young athletes are trained on a territorial basis. By contrast with the Russian Federation, where each particular sport requires a separate interdisciplinary research team, in Canada and France, the main emphasis in the scientific and scientific-methodical work is on the medal-intensive sports with historical traditions, a well-developed organizational structure of the respective federation and a high percentage of those involved.
The findings clearly demonstrate the great role of the methodological support in the athletic training of the national teams running for the medal places at the World and European Championships, and the Olympic Games.

Keywords: methodological support, elite athletes.
