Objective of the present study was to define the role of personality traits of female boxers in the formation of individual fighting styles.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment involved the female boxers from the Altai Territory, Krasnoyarsk Territory, and the Novosibirsk Region (n=64) aged 16-34 years and having sports experience from 3 to 17 years, including 6 Masters of Sport, 9 Candidate Masters of Sport, and 49 athletes having I senior degree. The following methods were applied during the study: "Masculinity/ Femininity" Test according to S. Bem, A.M. Schubert Risk Propensity Test, T. Ehlers Motivation to Success Test.
Results of the study and conclusions. The masculine and androgynous types of female athletes prefer different fighting styles depending on their risk propensity, ability to avoid failure, and psychological gender, which are important factors in shaping their fighting style, which need to be taken into account when forming the fighting style in women’s boxing. Also, the data obtained provide a perspective for the classification of fighting styles according to personality traits and taking into account two main styles. The attacking and defensive fighting styles have their own subtypes.

Keywords: women’s boxing, psychological gender, masculinity, androgyny, motive to achieve success, motive to avoid failure, risk propensity, individual fight style.
