Synchronization of movements in group rhythmic gymnastics exercises

Objective of the study was to improve the training process through the introduction of special exercise sets to form special physical and technical skills for synchronized combined actions of female gymnasts.
Methods and structure of the study. The following methods were applied during the study: non-contacting study of the video series of movements, stabilometry (diagnostic platform "Stabilan-01"), surface electromyography (16-channel electromyograph "Mega ME 6000"), design, expert evaluation, educational experiment, mathematical statistics methods.
Results and discussion.  The analysis of the kinematic and electromyographic characteristics revealed that the difficulty of coordination of each individual element makes it difficult for female gymnasts to perform them synchronously. To confirm this assertion, we conducted an expert evaluation of the quality of synchronization of movements of different complexity performed by the female gymnasts, the uniformity of their kinematic characteristics, and the degree to which kinematics are conditioned by the electrical activity of the muscles. It was found that loosening of visual control of the positions of the body units and body in space led to the loss of movement synchronization. At the same time, the most informative indices of asynchrony were characteristic not only for the indicators of the inter-linkage joint angles in female gymnasts but also for the speed of movement of their body links.
