Introduction. Currently, the development of technologies provides researchers with new tools for measuring the strength qualities of swimmers, allowing them to obtain a large number of objective indicators. And their interpretation makes it possible to get tools for improving training.
The purpose of the study is to determine the informative power characteristics for a comprehensive assessment of the power qualities of qualified swimmers.
Methodology and organization of the study. The initial data taken strength when you run a test, consisting of three phases: swimming with movements of the legs; swimming with movements of the hands and swimming in full coordination method front crawl, the duration of each stage is 10 seconds. Based on the fixed indicator of maximum strength, derived indicators were determined: speed strength and speed-strength endurance. To assess the information content, we used a correlation analysis of indicators with the sports result of swimmers at a distance of 50 m using the chest crawl method.
The results of the study and their discussion. To assess the maximum strength of swimmers, the peak power indicator was used when performing short-term work at each stage of testing. Speed force as "the ability of the neuromuscular system to mobilize the functional potential to achieve high strength indicators in the shortest possible time" [1] was evaluated in relation to the peak power to the time of its achievement. Speed-power endurance, considered as the ability to maintain high strength indicators when performing short-term work of a speed-power nature, was determined by the ratio of the difference between peak and final power to average power. The information content of each characteristic when swimming by elements and in full coordination is shown in the table.
The table shows that the evaluation of the force characteristics of the qualified swimmers when swimming with the legs is not descriptive enough when swimming with hand movements – informative middle, and when sailing in complete coordination – the information content is high in all characteristics.
Conclusion. The method for evaluating the strength characteristics of "speed strength" and "speed-strength endurance" when swimming using the chest crawl method in full coordination can be used to assess the strength qualities of qualified swimmers, and indicators can be used to improve their training.
