To substantiate the possibility of including the discipline "Pedagogical management" in the master's training program and in the programs of additional professional education, the study analyzed professional standards that determine the characteristics of the work of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports, conducted a survey of undergraduates and students of advanced training courses. A total of 87 people participated in the study.
The results of the study and their discussion. Analysis of the content of professional standards in the field of physical culture and sports has shown that at the first qualification levels in the standards: coach, instructor-Methodist, instructor-Methodist in adaptive physical culture – professional activity is assumed to organize the training and educational process directly with students. In fact, we consider labor functions and actions that involve organizing the processes of training and education of students and athletes, monitoring their level of fitness, and preparing for competitions.
Starting from the 5th‑6th level of qualification, the requirements for professional activity imply an expansion of the range of interaction. The specialist should work not only with students and athletes, but also with other coaches and specialists involved in the process of training and education, preparation for competitions. Labor functions include actions that involve organizing and coordinating the activities of an expanded category of participants in major events, educational organizations, and sports teams.
Conducting a survey to identify the opinions of undergraduates and students of advanced training courses on the need to include the discipline "Pedagogical management" in the training program for specialists in the field of physical culture and sports revealed that 86% of respondents expressed a positive opinion. At the same time, the priority topics include the following: assessment of the effectiveness and quality of the educational process in educational institutions of physical culture and sports (81 % of respondents noted the need to study this topic), planning in educational institutions in the field of physical culture and sports (72%), characteristics of pedagogical activities in the field of physical culture and sports (69%), the system of organizing training sessions and competitions in educational institutions of physical culture and sports (64%).
