Objective of the study was to rate the physical fitness of the 11-12 year-old schoolchildren for the Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) Complex Stage III tests.
Methods and structure of the study. The ascertaining experiment was carried out on the basis of the municipal experimental site for testing the software maintenance system "Russian physical culture and sport complex GTO" at the general education school No. 44 of Surgut. A total of 143 schoolchildren (74 boys and 69 girls) aged 11-12 years participated in the experiment. The test data were processed using the "Russian physical culture and sport complex GTO" online service toolkit provided on www.rosinwebc.ru. The subjects’ physical fitness was monitored in accordance with the state requirements for the age group of 11-12 years (Stage III) under the qualifying standards of the Russian Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) Complex.
Results and conclusions. The analysis of the data obtained revealed that 74 boys had low test rates in terms of speed (32 participants did not pass - 43.2%), speed-strength (31 participants did not pass - 41.9%). Among 69 girls, the results of the trial run of the GTO Complex tests showed a low level of physical fitness in terms of endurance (60 participants did not pass - 87.0%), strength (27 participants did not pass - 39.1%) and speed (20 participants did not pass - 29.0%).
Therefore, monitoring the physical fitness of the 11-12 year-old schoolchildren for the GTO Complex tests made it possible to determine the effectiveness of the pedagogical tools, methods, and physical loads used in the educational process, which enables, if necessary, to make the necessary adjustments to physical education lessons.
