Objective of the study was to demonstrate the possibility and necessity of applying the principles of physical rehabilitation as objective patterns that help restore man’s health.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was carried out in six medical centers of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region from 2014 through 2019. Sampled for the study were a total of 201 individuals who had suffered a stroke
The following indicators were studied: basic parameters of movements; cognitive and psycho-emotional indicators under the influence of psycho-regulation, ideomotor training, and self-suggestion. In the process of health resumption after a stroke, we applied the pedagogical principles and neuromotor rehabilitation principles.
Results and conclusions. The study found that the application of the principles and guidelines of physical rehabilitation may improve the psycho-emotional state of post-stroke patients, positively affect their cognitive and communicative functions, as well as improve their motor activity. The methodological methods and principles of motivation enabled to promote a conscious attitude to treatment in patients and differentiate the approach to their rehabilitation. The use of modernized psycho-regulation training, ideomotor training, and self-suggestion techniques contributed to the improvement of the subjects’ mental state, activity, mood (based on the results of the WAM tests).
Increased motor activity of the Experimental Group patients indicated a statistically significant improvement of the damaged movement parameters (seating position, standing position, upper and lower limb movements, walking) in compliance with the principles and guidelines of physical rehabilitation as compared to the Control Group patients (p<0.05 - 0.01).
